Two inter-club competitions are held annually. The team to represent Castle is selected by the Bridge Committee, taking into account attendance and results at the weekly competitions. These competitions are:
Team of Four
Played against Grange Golf Club and consisting of 16 players from each club. The competition is held in the first quarter of each year and was won by Castle in 2011. The clubs alternate hosting of the event. Grange will be hosts in 2013, the date will be finalsied later in 2012.
Rose Bowl
The Rose Bowl was inaugurated in 1991. Participating clubs are: Milltown; Elm Park; Grange; Rathfarnham, Dun Laoghaire; Edmondstown and of course Castle. Hosting is rotated among the participating clubs. The event is also held in the first quarter of each year with the 2011 event being won by Grange.
Teams consist of eight players from each club. Castle’s first victory in this event was in 2007, we are awaiting a second victory. Milltown hosted the event in 2012. Elm Park were scheduled to be hosts in 2013, they have kindly agreed to Castle hostijng the event for our centenary year when the event will be held on Sunday 3rd march 2013. Elm Park will now host the event in 2016 to replace Castle’s scheduled hosting.
