Double Date Delight for Alex Gleeson

Alex Gleeson has been selected to represent Ireland by the Golfing Union of Ireland for both the European Nations Cup at Sotogrande in April and the Lytham Trophy in May.

European Nations Cup

Alex was a winning member of the Irish team in 2016 alongside Dermot McElroy (Ballymena), Stuart Grehan (Tullamore) and Jack Hume (Naas) that captured the European Nations Cup at La Reserva in 2016 when Jack Hume also scooped the individual title.

Alex was also part of the Irish team in 2017 with Robin Dawson, Kevin le Blanc and Stuart Grehan who were runners-up last year while Dawson was second in the individual event.

Lytham Trophy

Alex Gleeson has also been selected alongside Dawson and Rafferty and are joined by Mark Power (Kilkenny), Tiarnan McLarnon (Massereene) and Ronan Mullarney (Galway) for the Lytham Trophy at Royal Lytham & St. Annes from 4 - 6 May.

Previous Irish winners of the Lytham Trophy include Tom Craddock (1969), Martin Sludds (1982) and Paul Cutler (2009).
