The Good Companions

Founded in 1952, The Good Companions, is a group of senior and elderly members.
At present there are approximately 40 members and growing.  25% are still Full Members, with many aged between 70 and 85 years old and a few hardy men over 90 years of age!

The Good Companions, captures the essence of what the Club stands for. Where, as we get older, many having served the club in various significant capacities over decades, can now enjoy playing a regular short nine hole competition each Thursday morning, usually between 11.30 – 12.30, followed by a drink / coffee and a chat.  This is a very important weekly event for our group.

We are also fortunate in that those who are too frail or for other reasons cannot play, are encouraged to join us for the afters. This is a key critical part of The Good Companions. Keeping in touch, looking out for each other and enjoying a few regular hours together.

The Good Companions is a unique and treasured group of long standing senior members of the Castle Golf Club, which has been in existence for greater than seventy years and are delighted to welcome any fellow members who would like to join  us on a Thursday.
