Welcome
The golfing summer kicked off officially for those with handicaps and those able for the golf course on Wednesday June 4th. If you believe your Junior is able to tee it up on the golf course, please email me. Otherwise, the Valley kicks off Wednesday July 2nd and Colin and Ian love to see all new Juniors there. The main course is long and difficult (trust us!) and the last thing we want is to demoralise any of our new Juniors. This is why we have a progression plan ; Valley-->Yellows-->Reds-->Whites/Blues (Boys only).

Clubnet app

If anyone doesn’t have access, simply download the Clubnet App from Play or App Store, use the email registered for the Junior, Passwd is Golf2018. Castle office will then verify. This is for Juniors with mobile phones. The purpose of the Clubnet app is:
  • Booking tee times, competitions, casual games or bringing guests
  • Purse – loading up with credit to load up with goujons and chips
  • Notifications – information we will push to phones (as well as to you via WhatsApp) please ensure Notifications are enabled in the app
  • Course information, Live Scoring, Competition Results etc

Golf Ireland app
  • Download the Clubnet App from Play or App Store
  • This is official record of Handicap Index and history and it also how Irish Golfers enter casual scores once they have a Handicap Index
  • You need the Golf Ireland card you were given as it has the 4-digit PIN to log into Golf Ireland for the first time; they are behind the bar if you have not yet collected the card

Handicaps
  • Again, this is less relevant to those new to golf, but it will be needed in not-too-distant future for all
  • To get an Initial Handicap Index, your Junior should complete any 9 or 18 hole combination of 54 holes on any golf course. Once this has been achieved, send me a WhatsApp of the cards which total 54 holes
  • Cards need to be signed, dated, tees played from should be noted (usually a box to tick) and their playing partners’ name as Marker. The Marker needs to be someone with a Golf Ireland handicap, can be Junior or Adult

If you have any questions, please contact the Junior Committee, or Colin or Ian in the Proshop and the golf staff are always on hand to help, including Alex who is on our Junior Committee.
